Why we do what we do (i.e. disseminating first aid knowledge and skills) is because we see the potentials for the mass public to render critical basic medical treatment and care to victim's in their times of need in collaboration with professional healthcare personnel and the healthcare system to achieve improved healthcare outcomes.
We believe that "knowledge saves lives and skills are for life".
We hope that you too will be able to make a difference to that one individual in their time of vulnerability.

Despite the availability of state of the art healthcare facilities and medical advancements, most unforeseen events requiring emergency medical care often occur in the out-of-hospital setting thus making first responders one of the most important link in ensuring a victim’s recover and survival.
This course provides a framework for learning basic skills in first aid. The course content and activities will prepare participants to recognize emergencies and take appropriate first aid measures.
This course also emphasizes prevention of injuries, complications and sudden illness, with a focus on personal safety and health.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:
Describe the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the public responder’s role within the EMS system.
Discuss the signs, symptoms and assessment of victims with common injuries and emergencies.
Discuss the first aid management of victims with common injuries and emergencies.
Discuss the assessments and management of victims requiring cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
