Some points from this lecture:

The rate of diagnostic errors is approximately 15%.

It is not about the lack of knowledge because we tend to MISS COMMON THINGS.

We can't stop Type 1 process from making a diagnosis, but we can be more careful in making calibrated decisions.

At minute 22:38, Dr. Croskerry showed the areas in the brain responsible for predominant Type 1 or Type 2 cognitive process.

Dr. Croskerry also talked about the interaction or the toggling function between Type 1 and Type 2. Skills that repetitively practiced will move the task from Type 2 to Type 1.

Note: the words "Type" and "system" are used interchangeably
